You have questions...we have answers
How do I register for the Bear Tracks Program?
The online registration system for Bear Tracks is located at . Registration
beartracks.ucr.edu
will be available online soon.
What is the fee to attend Bear Tracks?
The fee is 40.00 per student. This will be deferred to your fall quarter bill. To confirm your registration, your online registration must be completed and your confirmation page must be signed and received in our office least five business days before your session date.
How do I pay for my Bear Tracks registration?
Your Bear Tracks program fee will be deferred to your fall quarter bill. Deferring the payment forwards the student’s Bear Tracks charges and any related date change fees to your Statement of Account (which can be paid by credit card or check).
What if I have registered online, but need to change my confirmed session date?
A request to change a confirmed Bear Tracks date must be received at least five business days prior to the confirmed Bear Tracks date. If space on the new date allows for the change, a change fee of $25 will be added to the Bear Tracks amount due.
How do I enroll in classes?
Your earliest opportunity to enroll in classes is the Bear Tracks program (the online enrollment system will not be open for transfer student enrollment until Bear Tracks). When you attend Bear Tracks, you’ll learn how to use the online system, meet with academic advisors and the Associate Dean of your college, and you’ll register for classes using our online system. If you don’t attend Bear Tracks, you’ll be able to register during the general makeup registration period in late September (the classes you want may be filled, so it is advisable to attend Bear Tracks so you have a better chance of enrolling in the classes you want).
Do I need to take placement exams?
You may not have to. But, if you intend to take mathematics in your first quarter, and haven’t yet taken college-level math classes equivalent to UCR’s Math 5 or higher with a grade of C- or better, you’ll need to take the Math Placement Exam. Please check with your department’s academic advisor or your college’s Student Academic Affairs Office for information regarding appropriate placement testing.
